BECOME A MONTHLY DONOR

With progress being made around the world toward inclusion and equity, it’s easy to forget about how many millions of peoples’ identities are actively oppressed, persecuted and targeted by conservative policies, both abroad and here at home.

At Rainbow Refugee Canada, our mission is to promote safe equitable migration and communities of belonging for people fleeing Sexual Orientation, Gender Identities and Expressions, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) persecution.

This summer, we’re thinking long term!

This summer we launched our first ever Monthly Donor campaign.

Why does becoming a monthly donor matter?

When you become a monthly donor, you’re supporting Rainbow Refugee stay a little more independent and plan their programs better.

Your monthly donations help break the cycle of uncertainty that is so pervasive in the nonprofit and charity sector.

Your monthly donations allow organizations like Rainbow Refugee allocate money to where it is really needed at their own discretion.

Become a monthly donor this summer and let’s continue the journey towards a safer place for all of us.

***We are still accepting donations for Circles of Hope. You can donate to your circle of choice by filling out the form here.***

How you can support

  • 1. Become a Monthly Donor

    What, like it's hard? All you need is 5 minutes, a valid credit card and a penchant for creating lasting change in the world. What are you waiting for?

  • 2. Increase Your Monthly Gift

    Share the wealth! If you've been a monthly donor with us for a while, we welcome you to increase your gift to maximize its impact on our programming and services.

  • 3. Be A Cheerleader

    Talk About Us. In a good way! Reshare our posts, stories and newsletters with your friends. Follow us on social media and help us get our word across all the platforms.

  • 4. Get Your Office Involved

    If you like what we do and you want to create a ripple effect in your workplace, share the campaign and this webpage with your colleagues. Make it a memo they won't want to miss!

  • 5. Spread The Word

    Tell a friend, a family member, a neighbour, that person on the street. Tell everyone about our campaign. Every donor counts!

Your donation is incredibly valued. Your support is critical to helping those seeking refugee status in Canada through overseas sponsorship and inland asylum.

  • Free support drop-ins for LGBTQ+ and HIV+ people making refugee claims in Canada;

  • Offering training workshops for organizations, including Red Cross First Contact-BC, and MOSAIC-BC and Bridge Clinic;

  • Assisting individuals and groups interested in sponsoring LGBTQ+ and HIV+ people to come to Canada.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of many.

We can't do this without you...

All of your contributions donated to Rainbow Refugee are so generously appreciated and will be used to provide education, information, and settlement and practical support to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, or who are living with HIV/AIDS (LGBTQI+/HIV people) who are seeking asylum in Canada, refugee claimants to Canada or refugees in Canada based on a well-founded fear of persecution because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender identity, sexual characteristics, or HIV+ status. Typically, at least 90% of donations to Circles of Hope go directly to LGBTQI+ refugees settling in Canada. Less than 10% is used to provide core support to the Circles. General donations help Rainbow Refugee run essential programs like our regular support groups, community outreach and education. Rainbow Refugee is the final decision-maker on allocation of all donated funds.
